There are some very special people and dogs who are members of the Everglades Golden Retriever Club . These are people who generously spend some of their free  time going to nursing homes and hospitals on a weekly basis to share Pet Therapy with the patients

     Golden Retrievers by nature seem to be bred for this kind of work. They love to be petted, they love attention and many of them seem to intuitively know to be gentle when around frail or sick people.

Pet therapy has been shown to reduce stress in humans, and these therapy visits  make people feel happier and give them something to look forward to.
